Mumbai: City police has rescued seventeen girls, including four suspected to be minors, from a bar in central Mumbai who were forced to indulge in obscene activities for money and arrested seven persons working in the bar.

"The manager and cashier were among the seven persons of the `Cheers` bar arrested under the relevant sections Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act as they forced the girls to indulge in vulgar activities to attract more business," said Vasant Dhoble, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Mumbai Social Service (SS) branch.

The accused were produced before a local court which remanded them in police custody for three days, he said adding that, "the girls have been sent to remand home."
