Nawada: Police today seized 1000 duplicate watches of famous brands like Titan, Sonata and Maxima from a shop near the station road in Bihar`s Nawada district and arrested one person, police said.

Acting on the complaint of one Gaurav Tiwari, a senior official of the Tata group of companies, the police raided a shop and seized the haul of duplicate watches, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Akhtar Saharyar said.

The watch shop owner Md. Sabbir has been arrested and charged with bringing disrepute to the watch manufacturers by selling duplicate products in its brand name, he said. The value of the seized duplicate watches was said to be around Rs. one lakh, Saharyar said.
