Ahmedabad: Accusing Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi of wasting public money on party functions and building votebanks, state Congress on Friday criticised him saying, "Ten years of misrule have been completed in Gujarat."

Leader of the Opposition Shaktisingh Gohil also termed Modi`s Sadbhavna Mission a "farce and publicity stunt". Gohil`s comments come two days ahead of Modi`s second leg of his Sadbhavna Mission from Dwarka in Jamnagar. The Congress leader said that Modi should also first clear if the his three-day Sadbhavna fast was a government function or a BJP party event.

"If it was a government function, Modi should come out with a white paper on the expenditure and also explain why he did not invite the opposition party in a government function, he said. "In the last ten years of misrule, problems of people of state have compounded. Debt of Gujarat has crossed the Rs 1,37,000 crore," Gohil said.

"Modi is blowing his trumpet of development, but the number of unemployed has increased. As per government records, the number of educated unemployed is 8,25,488. This is two lakh more than that during the Congress rule," he claimed. Gohil alleged that Modi was giving away lands, reserved for public interest, to industrialists at a throw-away prices.Modi completed ten years as the chief minister of Gujarat on October 7.
