On the occasion of Vijayadashami, President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National Vice President Baijayant Panda, and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and others extended their greetings to the nation, with the festival’s enduring message of truth, courage, and the triumph of good over evil.

Marking the final day of Durga Puja celebrations and the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana, the festival holds great significance across and beyond the country.

President Murmu’s Message

In her message, President Droupadi Murmu highlighted the festival’s moral and social significance. She said the occasion symbolises the victory of ‘dharma over adharma’ and inspires citizens to renounce anger and ego while embracing courage and determination.

“May this festival inspire us to build a society and country where all people move ahead together, inspired by the ideas of justice, equality and harmony,” she said, extending warm greetings and best wishes to all on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami.

PM Modi Greets Nation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media to greet the nation. “Vijaya Dashami celebrates the triumph of good and righteousness over evil and falsehood. May courage, wisdom and devotion always guide our paths. Wishing my fellow Indians a happy Vijaya Dashami,” he wrote in a post on X.

BJP National VP Jay Panda Shares Message Of Courage And Propriety

BJP National Vice President Baijayant Panda also shared his wishes in a message that remembered truth, courage, and righteousness.

“Heartfelt greetings of Vijaya Dashami to my fellow countrymen! This sacred festival reminds us of the power of truth, courage, and the triumph of righteousness. It inspires us to walk the path of propriety, duty, and good conduct in life. May the grace of Adi Shakti Maa Durga and the blessings of Lord Shri Ram fill all your lives with happiness, health, and prosperity,” wrote Jay Panda.

Odisha CM Mohan Majhi’s Message

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended his greetings on social media, linking the festival to divine blessings and the welfare of society.

“On the great festival of the victory of truth over falsehood, righteousness over unrighteousness, and justice over injustice, the sacred ‘Vijaya Dashami’, also known as ‘Dussehra’, heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all. May Jagajjanani, Durga the destroyer of misfortunes, Maa Durga, bestow upon you happiness, prosperity, and peace, and ensure the welfare of the world,” wrote Majhi.

Meanwhile, Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati also expressed his best wishes for citizens on Vijayadashami with a post writing, "Heartfelt greetings and congratulations on the sacred Vijayadashami as well as Dussera. May everyone's life be filled with happiness and prosperity by the blessings of the Mother of the Universe, Maa Durga."

Celebrations across Odisha

Meanwhile, Odisha today joined the rest of the country in celebrating Vijayadashami with rituals at temples and community mandaps. From morning hours, devotees gathered in large numbers as Vedic chants and Chandi Path reverberated across puja pandals.

Priests performed traditional Dashami rituals, including the Aparajita Puja and Kalash immersion. The day will culminate with Ravan Dahan events in the evening, symbolising Lord Ram’s victory over Ravana.
