New Delhi, January 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended warm greetings to citizens across the country on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, calling upon the nation to strengthen its collective resolve towards building a Viksit Bharat — a developed and self-reliant India.

In his message, the Prime Minister described Republic Day as a moment of pride and reflection, marking the adoption of the Constitution and the values that continue to guide the country’s democratic journey. He paid homage to the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for independence, the brave soldiers protecting the nation’s sovereignty, and the visionary leaders who framed the Constitution. 

PM Modi said it is because of their sacrifice, dedication and foresight that India’s democracy remains strong, vibrant and resilient even today. He noted that Republic Day is not only a celebration of constitutional ideals but also an opportunity to renew the nation’s commitment to progress and unity.

Highlighting the vision of Viksit Bharat, the Prime Minister urged citizens to actively participate in nation-building and contribute to India’s long-term development goals. He stated that under his leadership, the country is moving steadily towards good governance, economic growth and self-reliance, with a focus on inclusive development and technological advancement.

The Prime Minister emphasised that achieving the goal of a developed India requires collective effort, discipline and a shared sense of responsibility among citizens. He called upon people to draw inspiration from the Constitution and work together to strengthen democratic values and national unity.

The country is celebrating the 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervour, with grand parades, cultural programmes and events being held across states to commemorate the historic day when the Constitution of India came into effect on January 26, 1950.

Concluding his message, PM Modi encouraged citizens to reaffirm their dedication to the nation’s progress and reiterated his confidence in India’s ability to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat.
