Kolkata Earthquake: Strong tremors felt in the city and adjoining areas

Kolkata and several nearby districts felt strong tremors after 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit Bangladesh on Friday at around 10.10 am.

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the quake originated near Dhaka in Bangladesh.

The quake struck Dhaka, with tremors being felt in Kolkata and nearby areas.

No immediate reports of causalities have been reported.

Several residents also reported feeling tremors in cities such as Guwahati, Agartala and Shillong.
