India has offered assistance to foreign nationals stranded in the country after being forced to alter travel plans due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East and Gulf region. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued an advisory on Sunday, asking affected individuals to approach the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for help with visa extensions or to regularise their stay.
The advisory comes as airspace closures and widespread flight cancellations continue following US-Israel joint strikes on Iran, which triggered retaliatory attacks and expanded tensions across the region.

“All foreign nationals in India, who have had to change their travel plans due to the ongoing developments in the West Asia region and need assistance with extension of their visa or to regularize their stay, are requested to contact the nearest FRRO,” the MEA said in a statement, assuring necessary support.
The conflict has severely disrupted aviation routes across the Middle East. Major airports in the United Arab Emirates, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, temporarily suspended operations after Iran launched attacks on US facilities. According to reports, over 700 flights across the Gulf region were suspended on Sunday, with the number expected to rise.
