According to police, the attack occurred when the girl was returning home from coaching classes. The suspect, who had reportedly been stalking the girl, fled the scene on his bike.
The teenager was undergoing treatment in hospital, and police have recovered the weapon used in the crime. A manhunt is underway to locate the accused. The girl’s sister said Mangla had been following her for several days and opened fire when she rejected his advances, as reported by NDTV.
Bengal Domestic Worker Assaulted In Police Custody
In Bengaluru, a domestic worker from West Bengal, identified as Sundari Bibi, alleged that she and her husband were brutally beaten by police for hours at the Varthur Police Station. The couple was detained after her employer accused her of stealing a diamond ring.
Sundari stated that the issue began when she found a Rs 100 note in her employer’s balcony. Sundari alleged that she picked it up intending to return it. However, before she could hand it over, the employer accused her of theft and later alleged that a diamond ring was missing, as reported by NDTV.
As per reports, following this, Sundari and her husband were taken to the police station, where four male and three female police personnel allegedly assaulted them.
