A massive explosion was reported on Monday evening in a car parked near Delhi’s Red Fort, triggering panic in the area. Initial reports revealed that the blast left 10 persons dead, while several others were injured. The national capital has been placed on a high alert following the blast.
According to the Delhi Fire Department, a call was received regarding a major explosion in a car near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station, after which three to four vehicles also caught fire and sustained damage. As many as seven fire tenders, along with the Delhi Police Special Cell, arrived at the spot.
Multiple casualties were brought to the LNJP hospital, sources told News Agency ANI. The reason behind the explosion is not known yet.
