Bengaluru jail row: Inmates caught using phones, partying with liquor inside prison
Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Jail has come under intense scrutiny after multiple videos surfaced online showing inmates using mobile phones, watching television, and even partying inside the prison.
The visuals have sparked outrage and raised serious questions about security lapses and preferential treatment within the high-security facility.
One of the viral clips reportedly shows alleged ISIS operative Zuhaib Hameed Shakeel Manna, a Bengaluru resident and computer application specialist, casually drinking tea and scrolling through a mobile phone while conversing with the person recording the video.
Manna, who was arrested by the NIA for his links with the banned terror outfit ISIS, appears to enjoy a relaxed environment inside the jail.
Following the incident, Karnataka Home Minister G. Parmeshwara confirmed that the government has suspended the responsible officers and initiated a probe into the matter. However, soon after this, another shocking video emerged, showing inmates dancing, drinking liquor, and snacking inside the prison.
The new visuals displayed disposable glasses filled with liquor, plates of fruits, and fried peanuts, as inmates were seen celebrating to the clatter of utensils.

The repeated incidents have once again highlighted glaring lapses in prison management at Parappana Agrahara, which has faced similar controversies in the past over alleged VVIP treatment and poor oversight.
