The temple town of Ayodhya is witnessing elaborate preparations ahead of the Dharma Dhwaja installation ceremony at the Ram Mandir on Monday, November 25, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside as the chief guest.

The sacred flag will be installed on the top of the temple’s shikhara, marking a significant religious milestone for the newly constructed shrine.

As per reports, the special flag has been manufactured in Ahmedabad, using three layers of fabric, and features a religious emblem associated with Lord Ram. It weighs around 11 kilograms and will be mounted at a height of 191 feet, with the flag itself measuring 22 feet in length.

Temple administration officials indicated that the flag took 25 days to complete, and its installation will be accompanied by simultaneous flag ceremonies at other shrines surrounding the main temple.

Ayodhya Decked Up

The entire city has been covered with floral arrangements and colourful lighting, as workers continue to finish last-minute décor work. Nearly 100 tonnes of flowers have been sourced to decorate the temple premises and adjoining areas, reported ANI.

 Floral arrangements have followed ritual order, beginning with offerings dedicated to Lord Ganesh before proceeding to Lord Ram.

Workers involved in the decoration have reportedly expressed a sense of privilege in participating in the ceremony, with several of them working through day and night over the last three days. Temple authorities have described the preparations as being in their final phase, as the city prepares to welcome thousands of visitors for the ritual.

A New Stage For Ram Mandir

The installation of the Dharma Dhwaja comes after the completion of major construction work at the Ram Mandir. Organisers state that the event marks a new ceremonial phase for the temple, representing the symbolic rise of the religious emblem above the structure.

With the flag-hoisting scheduled for Sunday, Ayodhya is expected to witness heightened footfall from devotees, temple supporters and officials.
