The Indian Railways is not only reducing food concerns of the passengers but it is also improving safety standards along with providing never-before facilities where commuters can have a flight-like experience in trains.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal took to Twitter and said, “Tejas Express is set to undergo a swanky makeover. Railways is rolling out 23 new coaches packed with modern facilities such as comfortable leather seats, motor-operated windows & personal infotainment LCD screens.
The Railway Minister mentioned that the new coaches will have airplane-like facilities. The facilities include:
- Comfortable leather-like seats
- Motor-operated smart windows
- Personal infotainment with Live TV, Audio, Video, etc.
- GPS-based passenger information system
- USB charging point behind every seat
- LED lighting inside the mirror with touch button on surface in the toilets
- FRP modular toilets with bio-vacuum system and touch free amenities

Meanwhile, a senior Railways official has informed that efforts are on to launch the first indigenously-built Trainset Train 18 on December 25 from New Delhi to Varanasi.

“Christmas Day also happens to be the birthday of late Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and it would be a tribute to the great statesman of the country if we manage to launch the next-generation train on that day,” a senior Railways official told IANS.
Since the input cost of the Rs 100-crore train is high, the fare structure will be also be higher than the normal fare, he added.
