Khurda: Local police on Sunday have seized contraband worth rupees more than a lakh from an SUV in Jatani here.
Acting on a tip off, Jatani police and excise department officials tried to chase a Tavera that was carrying the contraband.
On seeing the police, the driver tried to escape by speeding up the vehicle.
Following the chase, police, however, could only seize the contraband and the four-wheeler as the driver had dumped them near a school before managing to evade the cops.
