Woman held for kidnapping, killing neighbour's minor boy

New Delhi: A 30-year-old woman has been arrested for kidnapping and killing her neighbour's minor boy over a tiff with them.

Police said the incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in Uttam Nagar in west Delhi. The accused, identified as Deepmala, residing on second floor, kidnapped her neighbour's two-year-old son, Nikhil, while he was sleeping on his first floor home.

"During investigation, it was found that Deepmala took Nikhil to her room and beat him and dashed him against the floor until he died. She than wrapped his body in a jute bag and planned it to dump away from the residential area," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Sibhesh Singh.

She was caught on Friday when Nikhil's mother Khushboo suspected her and searched her room with locals and found her son's body, he added.

During interrogation, Deepmala told police that she killed the boy to take revenge on Khushboo, who had called her thief after a fight on November 20, the officer added.

"Deepmala used to peep inside Khushboo's room. On November 20, they fought after some articles were found stolen from Khushboo's room," the officer said.
