New Delhi: India said its nationals in Turkey are reportedly safe after that country was rocked by a strong earthquake causing widespread casualties and destruction on Sunday night.

"As per information available with the Embassy of India in Ankara, Indian nationals are reportedly safe," the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement. The statement said the Indian Embassy has also set up a helpline--Phone: + 90 530 4403216 (during office hours) and + 90 530 3142200 (outside office hours).
