New Delhi: The northern states of India were rocked by a moderate intensity earthquake on Wednesday. Tremors were felt in Delhi and the adjoining regions this afternoon along with Union Territory of Chandigarh and other states in the zone like Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.

The earthquake, measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale, occurred at 12.36 p.m. and its epicentre was the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border, Meteorological Office Director Manmohan Singh told IANS.
