At least 10 persons have been arrested in connection with the recent attack on a police team in Khadenga village under Raighar block of Nabarangpur district. The police team was attacked during a raid on an illegal gambling den.
The local police had launched a raid with the objective of dismantling the gambling activities prevalent during Mandei Utsav. The officers, intent on maintaining order during the festivities, found themselves confronted by a group of local youths.
Authorities have taken decisive action following the assault, detaining 10 individuals who were directly involved in the assault. Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend any additional perpetrators.

The law enforcement agency remains determined to uphold legal integrity and ensure safety, as they have lodged a formal case against the accused, underscoring their commitment to restoring peace in the region.
Recently, the Bolangir police had also claimed success in busting a betting racket operating from Kantabanji. A dedicated task force carried out a series of raids that resulted in the arrest of five individuals suspected of being involved in illegal betting activities.
Police had also confiscated critical equipment, including three laptops and 18 mobile phones, which are said to be key articles used by the accused in operating the racket.
