It was a scene straight out of a movie where an accused steals money and hides at an isolated place. However, it is always the cops who bust the mystery surrounding the theft and nab the accused.
A similar case has been reported in Odisha’s Balasore district. As per reports, around Rs 21 lakh was allegedly stolen from a company in Hyderabad and the cash was kept hidden under the soil in the backyard of a house at Badamandurini village. It is alleged that the money was stolen by one Gopal Behera from the company.
Gopal Behera was working at a agro industry in Hyderabad for the last 10 years. As per police, he was aware of the secrete number and had withdrawn the money from the locker without depositing the cash in bank.

It is alleged that Gopal had given the cash to his brother-in-law who then handed over the money to his parents at Jaleswar and returned Hyderabad.
On getting some information, a team of Hyderabad police reached Odisha and along with the local police carried out investigation.
Later, bundles of cash were recovered from a spot where it was kept hidden under the soil.
Though Gopal is absconding, his brother-in-law Ravindra has been detained in Hyderabad. Police officials said that around Rs 15 lakh has been recovered from the spot.
Detective inspector from Hyderabad said, “On November 11, one Gopal, who was working at an agro company, had taken around Rs 21 lakh. After proper investigation and search at his father-in-law’s house in Odisha, we found the money. We are counting the cash. So far, the accused is absconding but we have detained one person.”
