The Odisha government has initiated necessary steps to fill up the vacant Revenue Inspector, Assistant Revenue Inspector and Amin posts lying vacant in the State, informed Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari in the State Legislative Assembly on Thursday.
Replying to a question by MLA Amarendra Das about the number of vacant RI, ARI and Amin posts at the Tehsil offices across the State, Pujari said, “The State government is taking necessary steps to fill up the vacant position through selection process and promotion.”
“There are 317 Tehsils in Odisha and five Tehsildar posts are lying vacant. Similarly, as against the total sanctioned 446 additional Tehsildar posts, 217 are lying vacant,” Pujari added.
“The requisition made by all the district Collectors for 789 RI, 1385 ARI, 1169 Amin posts is under the Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission’s consideration. Moreover, the State Revenue and Disaster Management department has also replied to the query of the commission regarding PwC category reservation,” Pujari added.
"We are hopeful that, the selection process for the vacant position will commence and conclude soon," the Minister added.
