Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The Supreme Court (SC) today asked Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to declare SSC CGL exam 2017 result for recruitment in Central government jobs while hearing a petition filed in relation to the alleged SSC paper leak incident.
The apex court also appointed a high power committee headed by a Retd. SC Judge to suggest measures to make conduct of entrance exams for jobs and admission in educational institutions foolproof.
The SC said that the seven-member committee headed by Retd. SC Judge GS Singhvi will comprise former Infosys chairman Nandan Nilekani and scientist Vijay Bhatkar, news agency ANI tweeted.
A bench comprising Justices SA Bobde and N V Ramana had earlier on Tuesday adjourned the hearing in the SSC paper leak 2017 case as Prashant Bhushan, the lawyer for the petitioner, was absent during the hearing.
The SSC CGL exam, which was held last year, was allegedly leaked leading to huge protests.
Last month, the SC had directed the CBI to file a fresh status report on investigation into the case. The apex court had also directed the CBI to give a copy of the fresh status report to the counsel representing the petitioner.
