Thrissur: Veteran Singer K J Yesudas has been selected for the Sree Narayana award for 2011. The award would be presented to the music maestro by Sivagirai Mutt President Prakasandha Swamigal on January 7 at a function here.

Dr V M Manoharan, a trustee of the mutt, told newsmen here today said that the award consisted of a cash prize of Rs 50,000, instituted by the T R Educational and Charitable Trust founded by the late T R Raghavan,a leading industrialist. The award presentation function would be inaugrated by Union Minister of state for Home, Mullapilly Ramachandran.
