Hours before a scheduled inauguration and visit by President Droupadi Murmu, a 2-foot-long cobra was spotted and subsequently rescued from the premises of the new Bhubaneswar Judicial Complex building in the early hours of Thursday.
As per reports, the snake was spotted near the main gate pathway of the complex by a driver, who promptly alerted others nearby.
A team from the snake helpline soon arrived at the scene and rescued the cobra. However, the discovery raised concerns about the possibility of more snakes being present in the area leading to a thorough inspection of the entire premises, that was currently underway, as per the last reports.
