New Delhi: After winding up his US visit, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna will travel from there to Cuba on June 15 where he will hold talks with the Cuban leadership on bilateral, regional and international issues.

Apart from holding talks with his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Krishna is also expected to call on the Cuban President Raul Castro and other leaders, the MEA said today.

Indo-Cuban relations have been traditionally warm and friendly and India was amongst the first countries to extend recognition to Cuba after the 1959 Revolution, the ministry said, adding the two countries have mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of sports, energy, biotechnology and IT.

Krishna will also chair the annual Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) Regional Heads of Indian Missions (HOMs) Conference in Havana on June 16-17, it said.
