Railway projects in Bhubaneswar are being executed on priority, said Bhubaneswar Member of Parliament (MP) Aparajita Sarangi on Tuesday.
MP Sarangi said this after a review meeting held at Rail Sadan, the East Coast Railway’s headquarters in Bhubaneswar.
While informing about the status of the ongoing projects in Bhubaneswar, she said Sanapadar railway station, situated within the Begunia constituency, will be inaugurated on January 20.

She also informed the ongoing modernization work of the Bhubaneswar Railway Station will be reviewed at a meeting with senior officials from the railway department scheduled for January 4.
At the same time, while significant progress is also noticed as work resumes on the Kalarahanga and Patia flyovers, which had earlier been paused, the Taraboi station will begin accommodating passenger train halts from July 20, she informed.
The meeting was attended by senior officials of the East Coast Railway and local leaders.

Among the ongoing railway projects in Bhubaneswar, Metro Rail has taken centre stage. After a review meeting held on November 30, she informed that the first phase of the Bhubaneswar Metro Rail project would be completed by December 2027.
The metro trains would run for 26 km distance in the first phase with stoppages at 20 stations. In the first phase, as many as 13 trains will run and each train will have three coaches. Every day, 95,000 people are expected to travel in the metro, she had informed.
