Prez, VP, PM greet people on Milad-un-Nabi

New Delhi: Leaders on Tuesday greeted the people on occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, saying Prophet Mohammad`s life and work is an inspiration to lead a life of compassion and brotherhood.

"May the message of universal brotherhood, compassion, tolerance and service to humanity preached by the Holy Prophet guide and inspire us to follow the path of harmony and work for the welfare of all," President Pratibha Patil said in her greetings.

Extending his good wishes to the people on the occasion, Vice President Hamid Ansari said Milad-Un-Nabi reminds the people of the life and spiritual teachings of Prophet Mohammad.

"Through the message of love, humanism, righteousness and tolerance, the teachings of The Prophet continues to be a source of spiritual strength for all humanity," he said and hoped the enlightened message of The Prophet would guide the people on the path of peace and harmony.

In his message, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said the birth and life of the Prophet symbolised a message of selflessness, brotherhood and amity among people.

"The Prophet?s life and work is an inspiration to lead a life of compassion and brotherhood. May the festival spread peace, love and tolerance among all," Singh added.
