New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday took stock of the security situation in the country with senior ministers and top officials.

At a meeting of the National Security Council, Singh is understood to have discussed the security situation in the country with the members of the body in the backdrop of increasing terror attacks in neighbouring Pakistan.

Defence Minister A K Antony, Home Minister P Chidambram, and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee attended the meeting.

National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon, Home Secretary G K Pillai, three service chiefs, and heads of Research and Analysis Wing (RA&W) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) were also present in the 90-minute security review meeting.
