New Delhi: To ensure a hassle-free movement for the public, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday asked authorities in Chandigarh not to create inconvenience for the common people during his visit to Mohali tomorrow to witness the India-Pakistan cricket match.

"The Prime Minister has given clear instructions that on account of his movement in Mohali tomorrow, no member of the public should be put to inconvenience," PMO sources said.

Singh will watch the match along with his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani in Mohali tomorrow. The town is expected to witness heavy traffic on account of movement of VVIPs reaching there to watch the high-voltage encounter.

The Prime Minister`s instructions come in the backdrop of earlier instances when people complained about hardships faced by them during his visits.

Last December, a family in Delhi had claimed that its 46-year-old bread-earner had died of a heart attack allegedly due to delay in taking him to a hospital because of traffic blockade for Singh`s movement, prompting the PMO to seek a report from the Delhi Police.

A 32-year-old man had died at the gate of a hospital in Chandigarh last November as security for the Prime Minister`s visit allegedly hindered his access to timely medical treatment.

In July last year, parents of eight-year-old Aman Khan had blamed security arrangements for the Prime Minister as the reason for their son`s demise alleging that the boy died as they could not take him to a hospital due to roadblocks erected during his visit to Kanpur.
