New Delhi: NCP chief Sharad Pawar today accepted the resignation of party`s founder member and Presidential hopeful P A Sangma from the organisation. "I have accepted P A Sangma`s resignation with immediate effect," Pawar said here.

He said that the party will inform the Speaker of Meghalaya Assembly about Sangma`s resignation from the NCP. Sangma is an MLA in the Meghalaya Assembly. Sangma, a former Lok Sabha Speaker, has received support from AIADMK and BJD in his Presidential bid.
