Patil to address nation tomorrow

New Delhi: President Pratibha Patil will address the nation tomorrow on the eve of demitting office. "The address will be telecast over all channels of Doordarshan in Hindi followed by English from 7 pm onwards.

The address will also be broadcast over all Channels of All India Radio (AIR) in Hindi followed by English from 7 pm onwards. "In addition AIR will broadcast the regional language versions of the address over its regional channels from 9.30 pm onwards," a Rashtrapati Bhawan spokesperson said in a statement today.

Patil, who hails from Nadgaon village of Jalgaon district of Maharashtra, is the first woman to occupy the top office having assumed charge as the 12th President on July 25, 2007. Former Finance Minister and President-elect Pranab Mukherjee will be administered the oath of office as the country`s 13th President on Wednesday.
