In a tragic incident, three persons including two students, who were on their way to school on a bike, were killed after a speeding truck hit the two-wheeler near DAV school under Joda police limits in Keonjhar on Monday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Krishna Bhusal, his son Nikit Bhusal, and Santosh Sharma's son Ganesh, residents of Ajad Basti in Joda area. Nikit and Ganesh were studying in Class 1.

According to sources, Bhusal along with his son Nikit and his friend Ganesh were on their way to school on a bike when a speeding truck hit them from behind and fled the spot. The impact of the collision was so intense that the trio died on the spot, sources informed.

Meanwhile, vehicular movement on the route was disrupted after irate locals staged a road blockade demanding immediate action and adequate compensation.

On being informed about the incident, police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the matter.
