National Technology Day in India, celebrated annually on May 11th, honors India's significant achievements in science and technology, including the successful nuclear tests at Pokhran in 1998.This day serves as a reminder of the pivotal role that technological advancements play in the country's progress and development. The day memorializes the contributions of scientists, engineers, and innovators to India's technological expertise and the launch of India's first indigenous aircraft, "Hansa-3." It also memorializes the sixth global nuclear test, demonstrating India's global position.

The TDB acknowledges outstanding technological innovations, hosts award ceremonies, hosts discussions on emerging technologies, and encourages innovation among students.

Special events and discussions are also organized by government departments. The 2023 theme was "School to Startups-Igniting Young Minds to Innovate."
