Man arrested for abducting, raping 5-year-old

Muzaffarnagar: A man has been arrested for allegedly abducting and raping a 5-year-old girl at knife point at Fatehpur village here, police said today.

Dhir Singh (43) was arrested for picking up a 5-year-old girl while she was playing outside her house at Fatehpur village and taking her to a nearby cottage, where he allegedly raped her yesterday, SHO B N Parasar said.

A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered against the accused following the complaint by the victim's father, he said.

As per the complaint, the accused also threatened to kill the girl if she disclosed the incident to anyone, police said.

The girl was seriously injured after the assault and has been admitted to a district hospital, Parasar informed.

In another incident, an 11-year-old girl was allegedly beaten up when she opposed a sexual harassment attempt at Bhasker village?under Janath police station area yesterday.

According to SHO Dharmender Mishra, the accused, Kallu, beat the girl when she opposed his advances.
