Mumbai: Maharashtra Congress is launching an awareness campaign in a bid to provide equal opportunities and social justice for the weaker sections of the society.

The awareness campaign which will traverse 6000 km would be led by dalit leader Madhukar Kamble under the aegis of `Samajik Samta Varsh` on October 30 from Kolhapur. MPCC chief Manikrao Thakre, state Forest Minister Patangrao Kadam, Co-operative Minister Harshavardhan Patil, Minister of State for Home Satej Patil and various other leaders from the party would attend the function.

The drive will culminate on November 27 at the popular pilgrimage destination Shegaon in eastern Maharashtra region where Gajanan Maharaj lived and took samadhi.

Maharashtra Congress in-charge Mohan Prakash, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Union Ministers and MPs Vilasrao Deshmukh, Mukul Wasnik, Vilas Muttemwar, Bhalchandra Mungekar among others are likely to attend the concluding function.
