LPG Price Hike: Cooking Gas Rate Up By ₹50 Per Cylinder In Delhi

New Delhi: The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has been hiked again in Delhi. The price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder for domestic use will be costlier by Rs 50. The new rates would be applicable from tomorrow (Monday) 12 am onwards.

According to Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), a gas cylinder without subsidy in Delhi will now cost Rs 769.

This LPG price hike comes at a time when petrol prices in India are set to touch an all-time high.

The price of LPG gas cylinders is determined by state-run oil companies and is revised on a monthly basis. Depending on international fuel rates and US dollar-rupee exchange rates, the prices can go up or down.

Earlier on December 1, 2020, the price was hiked by a similar ₹50 per cylinder, followed by a hike of ₹50 again on December 16 due to firming of international prices.

The government of India is currently providing subsidy on the sale of domestic LPG cylinders to the consumers. The subsidy amount is directly credited to the individual's bank account after the purchase of the cylinder.
