Ranchi: The judicial custody of former Jharkhand CM Madhu Koda and his close associate Vinod Sinha was on Thursday extended for two weeks in the Rs 4,000 crore rural electrification scam case.

The special court of Jitendra Kumar Singh has extended the judicial custody of jailed former Jharkhan CM and his associate Sinha in the case till August 2.

Koda is in jail under a judicial custody since November 2009 for alleged involvement in the Rs 4,000 crore scam.

Meanwhile, Enforcement Directorate told a court that hawala trader Manoj Punmia who is allegedly involved in corruption cases linked to Koda wanted to become a Rajya Sabha member from Congress ticket.

The ED sought permission from the court for interrogating Punmiya, which was granted.
