Hisar (Haryana): Teachers of a government-run veterinary university here have developed a simple technique to check milk adulteration.

"Scientists at Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences has developed `Milk Urea Detection Kit` to detect milk adulteration," College of Veterinary Sciences dean A K Pruthi said today. A drop of milk urea detection reagent-a pink coloured chemical-when mixed with a drop of milk on a filter paper the colour of the chemical changes to yellow if the milk contains urea, he said.
