Indian cricketer Rinku Singh and Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj have decided to postpone their wedding, originally scheduled for November 19, 2025.

The couple, who recently got engaged in a grand ceremony, will now reportedly tie the knot in February 2026, with the exact date to be confirmed soon.

A Glittering Engagement in Lucknow

The duo exchanged rings on June 8 in Lucknow in the presence of family, friends, and prominent public figures. Among the notable attendees was Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Veteran actor Jaya Bachchan, and India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar were also in attendance.

The event was widely shared on social media, with Rinku captioning a heartfelt post: “This day has been in our hearts for so long – almost three years – and the wait was worth every second.”

Why Was The Wedding Postponed?

According to a report citing family sources, the wedding venue, the Taj Hotel in Varanasi, was booked for November. However, Rinku’s selection for national cricket duties during that period led to the families mutually agreeing to shift the date. The hotel has now been reserved for late February 2026.

Rinku Singh, a left-handed middle-order batter, has gained national fame for his IPL performances with Kolkata Knight Riders. Priya Saroj, the daughter of politician Tufani Saroj, made headlines by winning the Machhlishahr seat for the Samajwadi Party in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. A native of Karkhiaon village in Varanasi, she has been active in politics since her father’s 2022 Assembly campaign.
