The permission was granted on humanitarian ground to Dossa yesterday by Judge G A Sanap of designated TADA Court on a plea made by defence counsel Farhana Shah.
Dossa, in jail since March 2003 after being deported from Dubai, had moved the court for permission to attend his grandson`s `Aqeeqa` ceremony at his home in Agripada, Central Mumbai.
Dossa`s grandson was born in April and his family has arranged a ceremony tomorrow. He would be with his family for five hours and would go from Thane jail along with police escort at his own cost.
Earlier too, Dossa has been allowed to visit home to attend his mother`s last rites.
Dossa, charged with conspiracy and making arrangements for landing of arms and ammunition at Raigad coast for the 1993 blasts, is brother of absconding accused Mohammed Dossa.
The explosions had killed 257 persons and injured 574.
The main trial in the blasts case is already over and the court has convicted 100 accused. However, Dossa and some other accused, including extradited gangster Abu Salem, who were taken into custody at the fag end of trial, are being tried separately.
