New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: As winter vacation is around the corner, travellers planning for a train journey should know the ticketing norms well in advance. Often the Indian Railways changes the rules for ticket bookings due to which someone gets confused. Therefore, knowing the ticketing norms beforehand can help someone plan their travel well.
Here are some tips which will be helpful for someone booking train tatkal tickets through IRCTC website.
1- While non-tatkal tickets can be booked 120 days in advance, tatkal tickets can be booked one day in advance of the actual date of journey.
2- A single user ID can book two Takal tickets in between 10 AM and 12 PM
4- Someone can book a maximum of six tickets in a month through one user ID. The limit can go up to twelve tickets if the user ID is Aadhaar-verified and one of the passengers is Aadhaar-verified.
5- To discourage agents from getting tatkal tickets, the Indian Railways has barred them from booking tickets between 08:00 am to 08:30 am, 10:00 am to 10:30 am and 11:00 am to 11:30 am. Apart from this, Aadhaar card has been made mandatory for registration of agents.
