New Delhi: The Railways has said that it would initiate stringent action against those passengers violating rules which may subject to a penalty of imprisonment up to six months or fine up to Rs 1000 or both.

In a tweet posted by the Western Railways, it was mentioned that under Section 147 of Railways Act, trespassing across the railway tracks is a punishable offence with a penalty of imprisonment up to 6 months or fine up to Rs 1000 or both.
