The Indian Railways will soon resume several unreserved trains. Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal shared a list of the trains on Tuesday. For the convenience of the passengers, the Northern Railway will run as many as 35 Unserved Mail/Express Special trains from February 22.
"With the continuous increase in passenger services, Indian Railways is going to start 35 unreserved mail and express special trains from next 22 February," tweeted Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal on Tuesday.

This is the first set of unreserved trains that the Indian Railways will run during the pandemic. The Centre had suspended all passenger trains in March last year due to the nationwide lockdown amid the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, train services were resumed from June 1 in a graded manner. According to Indian Railways, more than 65 per cent trains are back on track.
Train Services To Resume In April ?
There were multiple reports which claimed that passenger train services will resume in full capacity from April. However, the Indian Railways on last Saturday dismissed all such reports and said that 65 percent trains have resumed operation and it will be added gradually in a graded manner.
“There have been a series of reports in the media about the resumption of full passenger train services from a given April date. Clarification is constantly being given to the media about it for the last few days. It is being reiterated again that no such date has been fixed for resumption of all passenger trains operations,” said the Indian Railways in the official statement.
“Railways has been increasing the number of train services in a graded manner. Already more than 65 percent of trains are running. More than 250 plus were added in January alone. More will be added gradually,” clarified the Railways.
All factors need to be taken care of and the inputs of all stakeholders are to be factored. All are requested to avoid speculation. The media and public will be duly informed as and when such a decision is taken, read the statement.
