Srinagar: An transport helicopter of Indian Air Force crashed in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district, 7 km from the Srinagar International Airport, police said.

As per reports, two pilots are feared dead in the crash. A police team led by SSP Budgam have reached the spot along with a technical team of the Indian Air Force.

The military chopper crashed in an open field near Garend Kalaan village in Budgam at 10.05 am, news agency PTI said as it quoted officials. The helicopter broke into two and caught fire immediately.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, the officials said.
