Raising questions over 5T secretary VK Pandian making visits to several places, the Congress on Sunday demanded action against him for visiting several places without the permission of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Addressing a press conference here in Bhubaneswar, Congress Campaign Committee chairman Bijay Kumar Patnaik said, “He is a secretary-level person. He is travelling in chopper. Security arrangements are being made for him. A fleet of vehicles is following his vehicle. Even school buses are being requisitioned. In response to an RTI query, the Chief Minister Office (CMO) said no such direction has been issued to him. If these things are being carried out without the Chief Minister’s permission, then, I will say, he is violating the ‘conduct rules’.”
“Who has given such rights to the 5T secretary? Why the Chief Minister is not stopping him if such things are happening without his consent? Action should be taken against the 5T secretary for violating the rules,” Patnaik observed.
In this regard, reactions from the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) couldn’t be obtained.
It is pertinent to mention here that, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha member from Bhubaneswar Aparajita Sarangi too on Sunday targeted the 5T secretary while raising questions on high-level security provided to the 5T secretary during his Bargarh visit.
On Friday, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Sarat Pattanayak had too launched an attack on the 5T secretary over his holding grievance meetings at several places.
