IMD issues yellow alert for heat wave in Odisha; expect rise in maximum temperature by 2 to 4 degree C

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is  very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangapur, Keonjhar, Kalahandi ,Angul, Boudh, Dhenkanal and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted that there will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) for the next two days and thereafter rise by 2 - 4°C thereafter over the districts of Odisha.

As per IMD, thunderstorm activities are likely to continue in different parts of Odisha for the next 24 hours. A yellow warning for hot and humid conditions has been issued for several districts of the state.

Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda.
