Rangiya: Six members of Adivasi Peoples` Army (APA) were detained today in connection with the railway track blast which derailed some bogies of the Guwahati-Puri Express in Assam`s Kamrup (Rural) district.

Two members of the group, which had claimed responsibility for the IED triggered blast, were picked up from a tea garden in Baksa district and four others from Gossaigaon in Kokrajhar district for interrogation, police said.

The APA had claimed responsibility for the blast on July 10 which resulted in the injury of 93 people and derailment of seven bogies of the train.

The police had initially suspected the hand of NDFB (anti-talk faction) but the group later denied its involvement in the blast.
