Five kidnappers arrested

Bolangir: Five criminals, who kidnapped and tortured a man for ransom were arrested on Wednesday, the police said.
The five-member gang had kidnapped one Sananda Sahu of Talpali village from Bolangir daily market road on Tuesday last and tortured him in a house in Teligoth para.
Sahu, somehow managed to call his friend Sanatan Sahu while in captivity and requested him to come to a particular house with Rs 5,000, police said.
Though the ransom was paid, the miscreants did not release Sananda and beat him up.
After getting information, police rushed to the spot and nabbed the criminals. Balangir Town Police Station IIC Tariq Anwar said, after interrogation the five accused will be forwarded to the court tomorrow.
The accused were identified as Bimal Joshi of Barpali para, Babulu Mishra of Sastri Nagaar, Dhananjaya Mishra of Pratap Sagarpara, Ranjan Senapati of Barpalipara and Manoj Chhatriya of Balangir Town.
