Kalyani (WB): The ailing mother of rights activist Binayak Sen on Friday said her confidence in the country`s judicial system had been restored after her son was granted bail by the Supreme Court in a case of sedition.

"I was demoralised when the Chhattisgarh High Court refused bail to my son and I thought I may not be able to meet my son. I got back my faith in the judicial system," Anasuya Sen said from her home in this town in Nadia district.

"Satyameva Jayete," she said adding the good news coincided with the Bengali New year today and she was extremely happy.

A bench of the apex court, comprising Justices H S Bedi and C K Prasad, today granted bail to Binayak sen who was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Chhattisgarh court on the charges of sedition and giving shelter to Naxalites.
