New Delhi: Congress on Saturday accused BJP leaders in Delhi of misleading people on regularisation of unauthorised colonies and held them responsible for delay in government's effort to regularise such colonies.

"They are misleading people by presenting incorrect facts on unauthorised colonies every now and then.

"I want make it clear that 895 unauthorised colonies have been completely regularised while development work has started in others," Arvinder Singh, Revenue Minister said while addressing the reporters.

He said if required Delhi BJP President Vijay Goel and party's chief ministerial candidate Harsh Vardhan can verify the fact with the booklets published by the BJP MLAs of these area, which they have credited themselves of carrying out development work in these areas.

Also, the opposition party has given tickets for the Assembly elections to their MLAs representing these areas.

Singh accused BJP of causing hindrance in regularisation efforts of the city government.

"Since beginning, they are putting hindrances in the government's effort to regularise these colonies. It was H D Shourie, who knocked the doors of the court on the issue. Then it was Harsh Vardhan, who went to the Lokayukta when we begun the regularisation process," Singh said.

The Minister, who was flanked by Power Minister Haroon Yusuf and PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan, took a dig at the infighting among the BJP leaders over the ticket and said "they have changed their chief ministerial candidate, now we have apprehension that they might change their list of contestants."

Singh also attacked Harsh Vardhan for his statement about calling international experts to tackle the problems.

"Why he has not called any international expert for the ills in the municipal corporations, which they are ruling for past eight years. When they have failed to check corruption in MCD, how they can think of the governing Delhi and the nation," he said, adding that he would request him to bring some expert and complete the flyover being constructed for 12 years at Roshan Ara road.

The Minister also attacked BJP saying that when the government has given the MLAs to undertake development work in their constituency through any agencies of their choice like, MCD, PWD, Irrigation and Flood control and DSIIDC, none of the BJP MLAs selected MCD as the agency.

It suggests that they themselves have no faith in the MCD ruled by their party, he said.
