The Odisha Nursing Employees Association has agreed to call off their strike after fruitful discussions with Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling at the Lok Seva Bhawan.

The agitating nursing employees agreed to call off their strike after four days on Saturday evening.

The decision to call off the strike came after Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling held a meeting with the delegates of the Odisha Nursing Employees Association at the Lok Seva Bhawan.  

"Discussions were held in an amicable manner. We appealed to the agitators to withdraw the strike from today and they have agreed," said the Health Minister. 

The president of the association also informed that the discussion with the Health Minister was successful.

“As the government has assured us that our demands will be fulfilled, we shouldn’t stay away from providing health services. When the assurance has come from the Health Minister, there is no question of doubt. We will join duty,” said Suchismita Das, president of the Odisha Nursing Association.
