Kolkata: Congress will write to the Trinamool Congress-led West Bengal government, of which it is an ally, for reconsidering the restriction on major dailies in state-run and aided libraries.

"We do not approve of the move by the state government. We do not think that there should be any bar on subscribing to dailies in state-aided and government sponsored libraries. We will write to them shortly to reconsider the decision," WBPCC chief Pradip Bhattacharya said today.

"It is my exclusive choice which newspapers I will read and there should not be any government restriction on the choice," Bhattacharya said. Asked about divestment of financial powers of three zila parishads by the state government, he said the PCC would soon meet to discuss the issue.
